Are we in Utah or Vegas??????

This is the day after it snowed all day before we could make another big snow man.

Here we are in our back yard !!!!!!! In las Vegas Unbelieveable I know. They said it has not snowed like this since 1970 and that this will go in the record books. This is the first day it snowed we made a big snowman then it snowed all night and we made another big snowman in the morning. ( 8 inches!!!!!!)

The Boulder city Rail road offers a train ride with santa every year so our little family and Sarah and Owen went. It was very popular so we had to get there pretty early but we got tickets. We went on arail road car that was open( there were indoor ones too) It was alot of fun the girls kept on saying they were riding the Polar Express. ( I think next time we go we will ride in an indoor car) The day we went was the first real wind storm in veags this year so you can only imagine riding in an open car on a train. Al in all the girls had enough on that they were warm and didn't complain so it was a huge sucess.

Gingerbread Houses

So another family tradition done this year. Every year we do a ginger bread house. athis year I made the ginger bread. awe invited some friends over and had a blast Kennedy and Brookelyn sure did a goo Job decorating their House

What a Kid

So I was taking Kennedy to scool and we had dropped her off and Brookelyn and I were headed back home and while I was driving I heard her say" this this" and I thought she was pointing at somethi ng so I said yeah isn't that cool. well then she said "No, mom, this this" so I turned around and she was pulling this face and when she saw that I was looking she said " I monster" I laughed sooooo hard. I mean it was out of the clear blue that she came up with this I have never talked to her about monsters or even shown her how to do silly faces.

Finally Thanksgiving Post

Thanksgiving was a little different this year. We are use to having to be at two houses and with lots of family. This month Britts rotaion wouldn't let him go very long so we stayed home and enjoyed the Holiday as a little family. We got up on thursday and had cinnamon rolls and watched the thanksgiving day parade all morning.Then we cooked a turkey and had a few other traditional foods. ( I finally broke out my fine china from my wedding it was soooo much fun) After dinner we got in the car and went and saw the Bellagio exhibit. ( the girls are in a picture with it.) Then we went and saw the movie Bolt with the girls. We had alot of fun Celebrating our first Holiday in Nevada. The other Pictures of Kennedy and Brookelyn are at Kennedys school, they have a thanksgivingday feast but it was basically veggies and fruit.( too many kids with food allergies, oh well it was still good to them.

Happy Halloween

There was Pumpkin craving with dad, school parties with Kennedy( Brookelyn wanted to dress up for her party too:)) , trunk or treat at church, parade at the church and then trick or treating in our neighborhood. Then all That candy!!!!Halloween definitly was Happy!!!!!

We would like to put a shout out For Papa and Grandma Erk Making the trip from Utah to Vegas on Grandma's birthday , to watch oiur girls so I could go with Britt on some of his interviews for a week.

First Soccer Game

Today was Kennedy's first soccer game. It was so much fun!! Her team did amazing all of them played well. The other team they played well thats another story. The other team was crying running off the field at the same time. All in all for the first game Kennedy did fabulous. Brookelyn sat on the sidelines nd cheered on her sister as well.

Western Days

They had Western days At Kennedy's school this last week. She roasted marshmellows, ate some flap jacks and sang some songs by the campfire. They even made a cowboy vest out of a brown paper bag and a badge. Brookelyn wanted to dress up as well so I found Kennedy's old boots and a jean skirt for her. They had a fun day pretending to be cowgirls, they ran around the house yelling yippy ah a ki oh !!!

Brookelyn's Birthday

Brookelyn turned 2 this weekend , Every thing was meow( that is how she says cat). Grandma and Papa Erk came to help us celebrate. ( they also brought peaches and all kinds of other yummy fruits!!!). As you can see she got a meow cake. She loved that. From Papa she got a John Deere tractor that makes noises:) she absolutely loves it. Then she also got from papa and grandma A princess Disney shopping cart along with a cash register and fake money. She is so funny She almost instantly wanted that money in her purse and when she wakes up from sleeping she says wheres my money, purse, my money, and she won't quit until we find it, then she also got a fake credit card with the cash register and without any help she goes up to the toy and swipes the card. Is that a sign for me that she sees me spending too much money:) Thank you for all the cards and money. She also got from Kennedy a night gown that matches Kennedy's.( I have to hide it in the morning otherwise she won't wear anything else.:)

Sequioa National Park

I thought Britton would have gotten the idea of a vacation out of his system when we went to Oatman, I guess I was wrong. Here we are not even a week later in Sequioa National park. We had a blast. Thanks to Brittons Rotation this month( It was not a hard one), we were able to go for 4 days. We all had a blast. Our camp ground has like our own personal zoo, the deer came and visited us every moring and evening while we were eating and then around 1:00 everyday, a mama bear and baby bear came right by our camp ground and went for the stream which was next to our campsite ( the bears were about 25 ft from us and never took a thought to us being there!! Crazy HUH!!). Then we had our own personal waterfall next to our campground so we heard the sound of that all day and all night, it was wonderful. The girls did awesome camping, they slept all night played all day, it was a fun vacation.

Baby Burro

Awwww how cute! This is a baby burro and the Brookelyn is holding a baby burro that she would not let go of in a store.

Brookelen feeding the burro she was too sacred to feed it so she threw the carrot at the poor animal and said here burro.

Yee Haw!!!

Today we went to the small, no little, no almost ghost town called Oatman AZ about 75 miles from Henderson on good old RT 66. We Saw a shoot out, ate at the local bar( Very unique decorations but pretty good food), and then feed the Wild Burros which walk into town every day, looking for the tourist to feed them carrots, which every little shop sells.It Was a fun day. After the excitment of the burro we went to Laughlin and rode the river boat tour of the Colorado River. When we took this picture the cowboy on the right said to Brookelyn this is better than Disney:) When Britton gets an itch who knows where we will end up.

Well after After four days of No Hot water we finally were able to take a shower Yesterday and use the dishwasher and I didn't have to boil hot water to get the dishes cleaned. Modern conviences are soooooo Nice!!!!!. For those of you that don't know, when we got home from Utah Our house fell apart before our eyes(at least it felt that way). First our Garage door broke, Then our hot water heater started to leak into the house, so not only did we not have hot water but we Had the really nice big and LOUD fans drying our carpet. then we look in our mail and we have a violation notice from our developement saying that our trash cans are not hidden well enough. The only problem is that the letter is dated before we even got home from our two month long trip in Utah.( in other words we got in trouble foe some one elses trash) :) Oh well We are glad to be home and to have our House almost back. Heres a picture of us with a real Mountain man We went to the Fort Bridger moutain man thing.This guy can tough it with out anything, with not having hot water for a few days I don't know how people way back when survived.

I know this is my first day with this new blogging stuff but I want to say one more thing. Brookelyn was so use to hearing Kennedy tell her age over the past few months.( which was three and a half) One day while we were at Papa and Grandma Erks, Papa asked her how old she was and she said it the cutest way but she said three and a half, and it hasn't changed since. Kennedy is so good to her too, she comes to me and says mommy she not three and a half thats just silly. I've explained to her that Brookenly doesn't quiet get that yet.

Today was a beautiful day. It rained in the Valley which cooled us off. We went outside in our back yard and had popsicles and swinged on our swing while the girls played with chalk. We just can't help being out side when it is so nice. I never thought that I would Ever say this but, Henderson is a great place to live.

Kennedy's soccer outfit; Cleats, shinguards, and of course the soccer socks. This is her first year of soccer. I'm a soccer Mom!!!!!
